If you choose to fly to Athens (several times a day connected to the whole world), that would be an option - from Athens the journey takes about 3 hours to Agaliani. However, there are also some direct flights to Kalamata (and Araxos near Patras)
To Kalamata, for example, there are these connections
(usually from the beginning of May to the end of October):
-
the Condor direct from Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Düsseldorf
(It's also worth checking the Aegean or Lufthansa flight schedule!) -
British Airways and Easyjet offer connections from London
-
Transavia Airlines flies non-stop from Amsterdam
-
Idealtours offers flights with Avantiair from Innsbruck.
-
Ryanair flies non-stop from Vienna
Landing in Kalamata, it takes about 1 hour to drive to Agaliani.
A rental car is strongly recommended! At Kalamata Airport you can find AVIS, SIXT, Hertz, Thrifty, Enterprise and many
other car rental companies!
with your own vehicle
The most comfortable way is probably to drive to Ancona or Venice and from here take the ferry to Igoumenitsa or Patras. The crossing from Ancona to Patras takes about 24 hours.
From Patras it is only a 2h30m drive to Agaliani.
